Service Committee Upcoming Projects: Supply Drive is ON!

We have heard from many members that service projects are the thing they like best about belonging to a club like Zonta Club of Everett, and the service committee is here to help! We have several in-person projects planned but because of the latest Covid surge, we have decided to delay those for a month or so.  In the meantime, we have a supply drive! We think these are fun because we get to shop.

Jim Dean of Interfaith Family Shelter has informed us that they are going to be opening a new shelter to house 10 people. They are waiting for city approval before opening up. Jim tells us that they used our grant to buy a gently used refrigerator and stove, and new flooring for the kitchen.

While they wait to hear they are approved to open, they are looking for small cozy touches to make the place homey, such as lamps, pictures, etc.
They also need:

  • kitchen tools such as spatulas, kitchen towels, etc.
  • cooking staples like spices, oil, salt and that sort of thing
  • pillows and pillow cases
  • about 20 bath towels

The color scheme is from the 60’s: light wine, gold, light green.

If you or any friends of yours are interested in helping with the supply drive, we will be coordinating with the Interfaith church to make sure we don’t end up with 30 lamps. Please contact someone on the service committee (Peggy, Penny, Marilyn M., Marilyn W. or Karen) to let us know you’d like to do some shopping and we will help you decide what to buy.
